about

The final track on the album is rooted in a scene from Jim Jarmusch’s 1986 film ‘Down By Law.’ It’s a song about faith and choosing a way forward. It was born as a meditation and a hand to hold. ‘Roberto’s Window’ is an experience of decompression and a reminder to breathe.

Thank you, Jim Jarmusch.

lyrics

To draw a window
To build a wing
O' the glory of something
To believe in

To look at the window
What a sight to see
A ribbon of bluebirds opens the sky
My love, breathe

To draw a window
To build a wing
O' the glory of something
To believe in

I long to hear her enlightening laughter
Embody the tongue without words where the mind must kneel to instinct
I lower my head and press myself into a psalm
And I ask
I call for the eye to see, the hand to leave
To wake, to dream

To look at the window
What a sight to see
A ribbon of bluebirds opens the sky
My love, my sweet, breathe

about

Blue Vow Cape Town, South Africa

Blue Vow is the solo project of Cape Town based Chelsea Ann Peter. What began as a spilled feeling in February 2021 had churned to the release of 'Sunfall' in February 2022.

Drawing influence from roots music, sombre ambience, distorted guitars, feedback and psychedelia, ‘Sunfall’ immerses itself in the darkness and the light, but finds its air on the edge where the two forces meet.
